Whats Happening
I've fallen head over heels completely in love with Prague. It has officially gotten the best of me. What do i mean by that? Well let's just say when you feel like you are in a fantasy world where magic is behind every corner, you can be sure you'll find your best self. This city is one of the most beautiful, classy and colorful cities I have ever been to. Every building mirrors the pastel colors of an Easter basket, every street is cobblestone and if you find yourself at the river you might mistake yourself a princess (or prince) staring up at one of the world's largest castles. All this place really needs is a unicorn flying over a rainbow and it would be a little girls' dream come true.
So what really happened? This city wasn't always a tale as old as time. In fact, this city has gone through so many changes beyond just it's name -- it is currently calling itself Czechia if you were wondering, but don't worry, it hasn't stuck yet. Nearly 80 years ago the Germans flooded the Sudetenland which were the areas of the country made up mostly of ethnic Germans. It was around this time that Jafar, aka Hitler -- an amoral psychopath who'll not hesitate to destroy anyone he perceives as a threat to his own sinister designs, appointed Reinhard Heydrich, one of the highest ranking Nazi's and the man responsible for murdering over 2 million people, 1.3 million which were Jews.
Why bring up this somber history? Because its just that, history. I have been left speechless over the history I am seeing here in Prague; walking the same streets the Gestapo once walked, standing outside the main area of action from Operation Anthropoid and feeling the bullet holes that once shot at the people who were attempting to liberate the rest of the city from Nazi regime. Being from the states you know it was bad, but to hear a motorcycle engine rev after a tour and have your heart skip a beat because the fear that took over the city in the early 1940's is something that takes control of you, is a different understanding of bad.

What to say when Aladdin shows up on his magic carpet.
About time. Things were getting sad and heavy, so I will switch gears and talk a little bit about the level of attractiveness you get here in Prague. HOT. If you happen to be tall, this is where you want to be. I don't have the problem of having to search for men (or women) over the height of 5'6" but even when I am not, they all happen to be 6'2" plus. Let me paint you a picture; a cross between Prince Charming and Prince Eric is pretty much what you are going to find here.
What you are thinking when the Genie finally pops out of the magic oil lamp.
How is it light out already? It's easy to get lost in the nightlife of Prague and be confined to one club until the birds begin chirping reminding you it's time to go home. Only thing is, you don't hear from the birds until you make the commitment to leave the tree house bar that has a piano for use, a live band on stage, a Foosball table and swing set to play on inside it. Yes, I am talking about an adult tree house that is underground and stays open to the wee hours of the night/morning. If you find yourself in Prague, don't forget to check this place out. There is also a dire wolf roaming around that somewhat resembles a Hyena and i'm convinced it lives there.
So...
A lot to take in from the first bit of Prague and an overdue post. This city is a place I will absolutely come back to and even a place I could find myself living in. The charm is unique, the history is surrounding and each person who walks into it has the ability to discover their own fairy tale. We cannot forget what happened in this city, or other cities in Europe who were influenced by German power, but we can visit the sites as a reminder of a world we hope to never witness again. Hakuna matata.
